Some one posted the other day that they had a signed guitar from Bon Jovi and asked what it is worth, in my opinion it is worth exactly what the guitar cost.Bon Jovi is on the same level of other 80s bands like Warrant.White Lion ,Europe...etc that wrote sappy power ballads by cute boys in the band, sure they sold over 100 million records but so did N"Sync and the Backstreet Boys. How many of today's music and a lot of it sux,has someone said Bon Jovi was our main influence.Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath,AC/DC,Lynyrd Skynyrd,Hendrix The Allman Brothers Stevie Ray Vaughan ZZ Top and numerous others put their stamp in rock history NOT Bon Jovi they should never be considered for the RRHOF

Ok

Neal,

Was the sole point of your post to let people know you dont like Bon Jovi?

So when you get to vote for the RRHOF we can mark you down for a NO vote for Bon Jovi.

Mark

My point is that hair bands like Bon Jovi have No Artistic Merit, unless your a girl ,they wrote sappy power ballads Jon sings like his underwear is to tight, they should Never Ever be considered as a great band .jon even admits he doesn't like Led Zeppelin .in closing Bon Jovi are a bunch of pretty boys that sold d bunch of records to people that have a lousy taste of music
So just because you don't like Bon Jovi's music, everyone who does must be either a girl or have a lousy taste of music and Bon Jovi's autographs are worth nothing...

This solely based on your personal opinion!

Hmm, self-centred much???

Very good point Neal.  None of the other bands that you mentioned above have long hair.  Particularly ZZ Top.

I'm pretty sure your own personal taste in music doesn't somehow negate the market value for a certain artist's autograph.

This type of post just doesnt have a place on an autograph board. Neal is only speaking for himself. Im sure the countless guitarists who picked up the instrument due to Sambora would all disagree. Any guitarist that listens to their music instantly knows that both John and Sambora are amazing musicians. Their interplay as guitarists alone speaks volumes. And despite any personal taste, Bon Jovi helped to shape music as we know it today. Its not a question, its a fact. Good or bad, it doesnt matter, they had their influence on modern music, and it was an important one. The comparisons being made with Zepp and all the others, as far as importance and impact, is absurd. They each were profoundly important in their own ways. Trying to discredit one or another based on ones own bias is better left for other forums.

Music is subjective, sadly people think their opinions should be held in high regard. In the end the arent.

Wrong forum to discuss music tastes, I think..... I've got a signed Bon Jovi guitar and I couldn't care less what it is worth but it does look good in my collection ! Having said that, I went to see them in Hyde Park a couple of years ago and I was about to fall asleep ! They did suck ... Sorry !

I agree, wrong forum for this type of discussion.  I'll close this out.
