Skipping ropes once owned by Bruce Lee. These were made in accordance with Bruce's requirements to have swivel handles. Purchased about five years ago from a collector who purchased them direct from TK son.
Certified by Taky Kimura.
A lot of similar pieces have been sold but with fake certificates. Genuine ones should have the read mark and a picture of the piece certified.

"...I guess we will never know the truth..."
That says enough for me.
Short of asking Taky himself!
Out of pure interest I have tried again to contact Andy for confirmation etc.
Its been a very interesting discussion thus far. It's a very complex area Bruce Lee memorabilia etc.
Thank you all for your time and comments therein. Very much appreciated.

I am not implying the jump rope itself is not authentic. Perhaps it is, or perhaps not. My point is that the original COA is not authentic which is a big problem. It’s not like the item can be sent to a TPA such as PSA-DNA or Beckett to verify it’s authenticity.
To be clear, Greig McArthur is extremely trustworthy and his website is one of the safest places to buy authentic Bruce and Brandon Lee memorabilia. However, at the end of the day, it’s up to the person buying to be well informed and be comfortable with the authenticity of the item. I’m just raising a red flag with this item, and myself would not be comfortable buying.
In terms of Andy Kimura and his feedback, I cannot say either way what his intentions are. I will say there are unflattering rumors out there with comparisons made to David Tadman for selling items with questionable authenticity and will leave it at that.
The photo itself was signed by Taky at a seminar in summer 2017 in Calgary, AB. I have numerous other signed items from TK, but the photo posted earlier is a rare example of his full signature.
Hi Peter M,
I have also heard some rumors about Andy dubious activities etc. I can't comment on them as I am in no position to do so.
The family have been for numerous years selling of his collection to fund his medical expenses. They are in financial distress!
I do know that TK is very sick and has been for a number of years. He has advanced dementia and severe diabetes just to name two. He is I think about 96 years old or thereabouts. This disease effects one ability to write or sign coherently. Resulting in shaking etc.
I suppose in the end no one really knows whether the ropes or indeed the certificate originated from the Kimura clan or not. I agree with you that the signature is different from the signed picture you posted. However the signature on the certificate is not a full one. It's abbreviated. Is it Taky, Andy or someone else. I don't know.
The one thing Andy informed was that all the original certificates had for the most part images of the certified item included.
"...I suppose in the end no one really knows whether the ropes or indeed the certificate originated from the Kimura clan or not...."
Again, that says enough.
"...The one thing Andy informed was that all the original certificates had for the most part images of the certified item included..."
Meaningless.
Hi Eric,
I think I will go with what Greig McArthur states. He after all he is a well-know and respected expert on Bruce Lee.

All I can say is, most of the Bruce Lee items that come with some type of COA from Taky Kimura. From what I have seen in the past are not always what is claimed to be.
Dont even know if that's Taky's signature on that COA. Seen lots of different signatures on them COA's as well have to be so careful.
I do know what you are mean Eric but many women collect costume jewellery, - maybe not enough to fill a trunk but some of the rarer pieces go for hundreds of dollars and they are just as eagerly sought after as autographs (altho not as expensive as Beatles sets) . I dont think its particularly fishy that she had a trunk full but the problem is of course he was selling the pieces with his own coa.
