Hi everyone!

Would appreciate your help with this Bruce Springsteen autograph. Do you think it's good or bad?

Thanks for helping!

Jan, did you read my last comment?

Try to get a good res flat scan.

Will try to do that, but it sells in 15h so it's not much time.
Also just found out that the pic is just 5,1x4,3 (13x11 cm) in size. Meaning the signature must be really small.

Don't know if that info adds something?

The signature has some strange qualities, and I just saw this as an 8x10 with a different signature but in the same place. The smaller version at 5x3 has a perfectly reduced signature so I am going with "preprint".

Your opinion is much appreciated Eric!

Eric, what do you think of the straight line in the B ? Put a straight edge on it and it lines up perfect, right to the loop where the ink is missing. Wouldn't be easy to do a straight line like that free hand. I was leaning towards preprint as well.

Hi ROBERT (wrote RICHARD by mistake earlier),

When I said "signature", it was to avoid using the work "ink". Only having what is here to go by, I am thinking preprint. FWIW, I don't think that line is dead straight. Look at the "ink" in negative and over-contrasted - what do you see?

Eric, I enlarged the signature and laid a ruler along the line and it looked straight. it seems to line up with the ink missing on loop. Maybe I'm just looking into it to much. Do you think the line in the B is typical?

Hi Robert,

To me it has the slightest curve and also varies in width a touch. I mean like .5% - very very slight. Fro the way the signature has been reduced perfectly from the 8x10 version I saw, with a different sig but in the same exact place, I have to conclude this 3x5 is some sort of preprint from the little data at hand. And the "ink" looks rather strange, no? Not jagged like an Autopen but perhaps odd at the first stroke of the "S" and the last trail off the end.

Wondering who would bring a tiny 3x5 to a meet and greet?
