Etienne, The SP you posted is nice.

Thanks....that Lancaster photo was the first I had seen available signed in vintage fountain pen.  Most are in ballpoint....and hard to even come by at that in vintage/authentic form.

I enjoy seeing all these vintage signatures in this post. It's a shame that so many collectors today are looking for the hottest stars or speculating on newcomers becoming the next big name. What would baseball be without Babe Ruth? Or Hollywood without John Wayne? Or Bette Davis? On and on.

Don't get me wrong. Today's stars are just as talented. But, it was the others before them that set the standard.

Joe W., Todays collectors on the most part have not been exposed to the great actors of the past, as those of us old timers were not on the most part exposed to the entertainers our Grandparents enjoyed. My daughter watched those old b&w movies growing up with me, as I watched her favorite modern day likes. She loves the effortless acting of Tracy, Cooper, Davis, Hattie and a very few others of the past….I can see that same effortless acting from todays actors from their earliest parts…..Leo, Streep, Washington and others….I collected all of them and took many a chance. Most have paid off well and others were stinkers. Such is life.
