I wanted to share some Carol Lanning "autographs" I received during the mid 2000s.

During the mid 2000s I wrote a few letters and sent a few greeting cards. The reasons for these were numerous with a few basic being 1) I was a Charlton Heston fan 2) I was a volunteer at a nursing home with an Alzheimer's unit 3) I hoped my letters would reach Mr. Heston and brighten his day during his illness.

I know Steve Z's work on the Heston secretarials is without equal, though I was suspect of the Heston ttms while receiving Miss Lanning's signature and noticing it had a "flow" as generally seen in the Heston fakes, just her autograph was smaller. Even the C in Carol seems representative of the C in Charlton.

I had made a few attempts to get a real signature from reputable companies. I bought a few books from the NRA store, which wound up being a "stamp." Those stamps were similar to Heston's real autograph and not the ttm secretarials. Funny thing is though, the Heston t-shirt sold by the NRA store bore a facsimile of the Lanning Heston autograph. I returned the stamped autographs for credit but did get to buy an authentic Heston from the Nixon library. Around 2007 I posted some suspicions on star tiger but with my membership having expired and slowing down on collecting, I didn't return to the site.

I am enclosing some attachments (if someone can figure how to post in a message, please feel free to do so), I'm a message board photo novice.

The photos will show a secretarial Heston signed letter, compared to four Lanning signed letters compared to a real Nixon library authentic Heston signed book. I wish that I had the thought to send a book ttm to Charlton Heston. I did send a book cover (the Letters to Grandson) though that wound up being a secretarial signature. I know some stars will sign their books ttm when generally either using a secretary or not signing photos and other memorabilia. A recent "findadeath" posting on Tony Curtis had an awesome, authentic signature and sketch, received in Curtis' book during his latter years and when sending secretarials.

P.S. Being as this is my first post, I figured "Town Square" would get some attention. If a moderator feels this post will garner more attention for the subject on another forum of the site, please feel free to post it somewhere's else.
