Hi all, I am about to consign my first item ever to an auction house. Can anyone with experience offer thoughts here or privately through PMs on getting the item to them safely and what to do with options such as insurance and signature required for delivery? Just a little nervous about sending it off into the wild, having never done this before. FedEx was suggested. Thanks in advance!

Signature Required is essential. It costs a few dollars only.

I would also recommend insurance. If you don't insure it you can only be reimbursed for the actual price you paid for the item - and you will need to provide receipts to get even that.

Thank you for the advice. I thought so too. Still scary though!

It's important to make sure the auction house is right for your consignment, and reputable overall. Have you compared their prices realized for pieces like yours to other auction houses? If they're not a stickler for authenticity, usually even their unquestionable autographs go for less.

Thank you, Steve.

Im working with Gotta Have It. The item has been previously JSA authenticated and I feel like they have been consistently hitting high marks in general. Id certainly be interested in any thoughts to the contrary.
