What era would this be eric
Well, I think the date helps you Alan ;) Not getting into authenticity here - just value. It seems wise and more effective/useful to the average person seeking this information.
The image you've shown also indicates a minimum date. The lovely montage is untrue actually in a way. Bowie did not 2 have different colored eyes (possibly slight heterochromia) - what everyone sees in just his stuck-open pupil making it appear darker/different. Both eyes are blue.

Mid 1980s
David,
Is that not dated 2000 or 200-? ?
That is not exactly a mid 80's signature as I know it. If that is not a date but says "owie" then - well, that's another thing still.
Eric
Think that says bowie the record is from the 1980s so signed at a later date
Hi Alan,
Yes, signed after the release. I don't want to turn this into an authentication thread - but if that says "owie" something seems really wrong now. That should be a date. And that is not a mid 80's style signature as I have seen. Perhaps another will chime in.
Eric
I can see where it could be a 2 did he allways add the year to his sig ? Will have a closer look
Hi,
I was sort of hoping to keep this about value.
People are going to spend no matter what - the whole room here can not "teach" authenticity in a day in a thread or 20 threads or 200 - but we can try to establish some idea of what one might pay for something, or not. What is reasonable and what is not. My example is an index card as it is easiest IMO for discussion.
What did you pay for that album? When? What might you be paying for it later today?
What would you think my index card is worth?
Eric
PS - Generally yes, dated. You thought it said "owie"? Do you own that or are you buying? If you own it please join the discussion about value :)
Bought from a well known uk dealer/in person collecter who i trust payed £ 375 earlier in the week thought instead of paying the same for the clear vinyl would invest for the future whats it worth in the future who knows but would not be paying $1000 for a picture i think if yousold your indexthis week $4to500 oncloser inspection that might say 2000
Hello Bjarne,
That looks lovely. The often seen red ink. Nice example. Thanks for posting it. The secretarials I am looking at - there is one letter that has two pages and there are elements of both!
Eric
