Hi Mark, something about the placement and presentation is making me nervous - the starting curves of the "B" reminds me of some other things I did not consider genuine in the past and a quiver at the start of the paraph shows some. Ink disposal is looking a bit backward in places - slower where it might be faster? I think also of some recent low priced LP's offered around and other things we have seen that some like and others do not. As an undated Bowie, and with the % mentioned/estimated at Andy's site of same, it is not one I'd recommend etc. What do you make of it?

Hi E.

I bought it a few years ago - it comes with an Isolar comp slip and the original collector requested for it not to be dated - it was signed in the NY offices in 1995. Here it is alongside some other Andy examples.

Excellent! It is just a tad unusual to me for the reasons stated here and in PM (placement/angle, the start of the "B" curves, the swagger/nature of the 2 curves at "B"'s bottom before the loop (what I call "battleaxe B"), the slightest suggestion of hesitation on the right curve starting to head left of the lower "B" loop starting the "blade", the loop some and the quiver at the start of the paraph of the "blade" of the "B" and a slightly odd apostrophe)... however, it hits all 1995 marks obviously. I am overtly cautious now considering some recent things I have seen offered and sold in several places for absurdly Low prices - some with papers unfortunately. And with the low % of undated Bowie's, I think Andy estimates 15%?, I would be hesitant to recommend but with some knowledge of the knowledge of its source and the relaxed nature of the signing...

Hi Eric, I absolutely understand your reasons. I am still in shock what has been sold on Ebay for the past couple of weeks.

Sara there were three up for sale yesterday, all at $110 from the same seller. The ones that had Eric's "blade" backward. Do you know the ones i mean? Looks like the Ziggy sold as i dont see it on eBay anymore. Just awful

Awful indeed!!! Truly terrible. This jerk has been using those textured images for some time, whatever seller name he is using. And his "signatures" are not getting any better at all. I have nothing against the price - I have bought better for less. I helped one member here get a C. 1977-79 Bowie sig for WAY under $100 and others at $100-under $200...but...well...they were genuine!

Here is a good if exaggerated example of a "Battleaxe B" or "blade" as I see it. This was one of my old examples - sold now but still a fav. The blade does not have to be complete to the following loop - often it skips to the loop as here. If it does skip, and the the trail off is a dead stop and not an ever-thinning stroke - perhaps a problem!

I need to correct some typo/errors made while writing - I left something twice during editing. The copy below makes more linear sense:

"...It is just a tad unusual to me for the reasons stated here and in PM (placement/angle, the start of the "B" curves, the swagger/nature of the 2 curves at "B"'s bottom before the loop (what I call the "battleaxe B"), the slightest suggestion of hesitation on the right curve starting to head left of the lower "B" starting the "blade", the loop some, and the quiver at the start of the paraph and a slightly odd apostrophe)..."

And a note: It is "funny" seller requested it undated because as of this time and vantage...we three at DBA (and others surely) can pin them rather nicely, date or no.

Ok i see the "Battle Ax B" now and what you mean by the "blade". What would/do you call the last part of Bowie; the horizontal line at the finish that runs along top of the numbers?

I'd certainly pay $110 for something that was real! I find it amazing how a seller can sell three signed albums, all at the same price, all in a row on ab eBay search and have anyone believe they were genuine! 100% + feedback means nothing! It's sad that there are so many gullible people out there. I was watching a fake Alice In Chains, signed by all 4 original members, at $200 BIN just to see if anyone would bite. And they did. It makes me wonder if there are many collectors out there that just simply dont know about this forum and site.

Again Eric, thanks for the analysis on the autograph in this thread. My first thought was "it's not in the right place" but aside from that and lack of numbers it looks spot on. There must be a few out there that are 100% genuine that just dont check all the right boxes and therefore fall along the wayside

"...What would/do you call the last part of Bowie; the horizontal line at the finish that runs along top of the numbers?..."

That is the paraph - the ending flourish. It often has a little kickback as shown here. And you are very welcome :)

Here are the offending LPs on sale on eBay - $110 each. The Ziggy has sold. They are awful and the same US scanner has been churning them out for years but under different accounts. He is currently heresjonny517 (108 Feedback score: 108) NOTE; he is not connected to the original request for members views on the Aladdin.

I quite like the one you originally posted, - its quirky and original , a bit like bowie himself and the fact that it's not dated makes it a bit more unusual to purchase
