Thanks so much for your recent order with us at Bookshop.org, it’s much appreciated,

I’m writing today in regards to a recent order you placed for David Gilmour — Luck and Strange — Studio/Live (Signed Edition,)

Since this title was listed for pre-order near the end of last week, we experienced a huge surge of orders for this, including some that were well over the initial 3 per customer limit that we had placed on this to ensure fair access to as many customers as possible, (which was later limited to 1 per customer at the request of the authors themselves.)

Sadly, due to the surge in traffic to the site, and the challenges involved in maintaining enough stock for everyone (by cancelling excessive orders,) we have gone beyond our allocated capacity for this title and for this reason, any order(s) you have placed with us after 5pm on Friday 26th September have been cancelled, and you will soon receive a refund for this via the same method of payment,

Please accept my apologies for this, and please note that the standard edition is still available to pre-order here.

I received the same message.

I wonder how many some people ordered 'well over the limit' and if they had their whole orders cancelled or simply reduced. I also wonder if the orders for 3 will be honoured or reduced to 1. In any case I think I should thank those of you who ordered well over the limit, that's probably how I managed to get one good order out of 2.

Not mine, just seen on Amazon

Perfect placement to cut the page after Gilmour

Anyone who would do this, would totally destroy it. Its like crappy cut photos glued on cheap guitars and sold for hillarious price as "signed guitar"..... Disgusting greed destroys beautiful item.

+1 I thought the same when I saw this. People can do what they want, but I would never. It  Simply destructive.

It's worse than the "Yes, I Have Seen Ghosts" slabbed cuts or the ones with Polly erased (partially).  Always a "less than. "The idea of a bookplate on a guitar is ridiculous

I thought the signed copies were book plate editions?  Copy shown is for a competition for Amazon pre-orders of his new album/dvd/bluray.

How do you get it?
