here is one without the STL25 that is really nice, and reasonable, on Coleman ball so same time period. Still rare:

Thanks Terrier. That is a nice ball you have there. If ever let me know. Go Cardinals.
Thanks Erich, but I grew up in Boston!
Ah so now you have crushed us twice now. Its our year next year.
well, you got us in '46 and '67!
Terrier, I like your ball but not this one (looks kinda off, shakey, slow) besides easy display,(though I own about 20 signed balls) I would rather opt for a signed photo. Balls easily discolor and sigs fade easier if not kept in the dark.Only my opinion and I do respect yours.
Ian, which ball are you referring to that looks "shaky"?
Ebay pic, end of sig and second loop, of course balls harder to sign but looks off to me.
you mean the Mac ball in the link I posted? its 100% authentic.
That's interesting Terrier. Nice signed ball! Do you think that the drop in price was more because of his connection to steroids or his increased show appearances? I'm not sure what to think of that scenario in particular, but to go from $500 to $80 today is discouraging. Probably why I stayed away from modern baseball players for so long.
I am against paying retail Steiner prices, especially since half of these Steiner signed baseballs have flaws in either the signature or the ball itself. I was looking at vintage Jeters before I found the one I posted, but the only reason I paid what I paid for the Jeter was because I liked the boldness of the signature. Not that I think it's particularly valuable, but because I find it aesthetically appealing and much nicer than more than 75% of the modern day Jeters for sale for these astronomical prices. I can't help but notice that it seems the pen used at Jeter signings seems to always look like it's running out of ink or not bold enough. I'd be extremely mad if I paid $500 for a signature that isn't top notch.
In my opinion, Steiner always uses weak blue ballpoints that look like they are half faded even when brand new. Not just for Jeter... for all the signatures they procure.
I have seen numerous reports that they often fade prematurely even when not displayed.
why the f would Steiner use weak pens? I do agree, because I own a couple of them (Piazza and Ortiz) and they are definitely light. for the money he charges for his items, you would think he could afford a quality pen.
