Lately i see a rise in sellers, flippers, e bay autograph specialists  buying signed pages at auctions like RR etc and cutting them up to form PSA slabbed cuts one i noticed today pushed me to post this discussion

this one sold at RR as a signed page from a hotel in toronto 1968 signed by Hendrix ,Noel Redding and members of the supporting band on that tour the soft machine it was a nice piece with signatures overlapping slightly as originally signed and with the odd doodle etc am i alone in thinking that this was a historical document that could be tied down to a certain place, tour ,time and moment in history that is now ruined forever by being cut to form a sterile Hendrix signed slab i cannot understand why anyone would do that or even prefer the cut signature to the original piece , the other signatures arent worth much maybe $150 for the Noel and the same for the soft machine so splitting the page isnt a massive $ incentive so i can only think that these guys are offering a service with a demand for cuts

what do other members think do you strongly believe like me that destroying that page and others like it is verging on criminal destruction or just think its a real shame to cut the link with the other signatures or do you prefer the single cut and think it doesnt really matter

Why in the world would anyone cut that great autograph page up???

Now its in a lovely plastic case. Theres a few cuts from jimi on ebay they look like there been cut from something like this.
They have ruined the important place and time where that signature was signed.

Seems like the worst offenders are trading card companies who shred documents, bats, jerseys, etc in order to make their own crappy "collectibles."

like the guys who cut up concert worn scarves and sell them in 1" sq framed bits

Could psa still pass the autographs with the whole page. Noels fine but the signatures in the middle.

This has been cut from a magazine cover. Who knows what it was originally.

My impression was it's a signed 45rpm paper sleeve. The up close photo on ebay.

HI Paul that ones originally from Roger Eppersons shop it was a nice big double page german magazine photo that jimi had signed twice the buyer has cut one signature out of it and ruined the piece

That's insane.

Its like cutting your Woodstock progamme up Roger.

i think i should cut the signature out close as possible and get it slabbed

It's all about the little psa dna sealed sticker, slab.
