I haven't, but a good friend of mine got an amazing deal once. He bought a officíal MLB baseball signed by Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford for .50 ! The man of the house worked as a pharmaceutical salesman and gave these ballls out to doctors amd pharmacis for promotion.

I say it's difficult, but NOT impossible to find certain treasures at flea markets, garage sales, etc... I have found some great finds in the past. I once found a Buffalo Bills helmet signed by Jim Kelly at a thrift store for $5. It even came with an authenticated sticker from a reputable sports company.

Six years ago. I ended up selling it for around $70-$80.

I remember seeing a signed Larry Nance Cleveland Cavs shirt at a thrift store for like $3. I didn't buy it thinking it was likely fake, and I also wasn't the biggest collector then. I've since gotten his auto, and I'm pretty certain it was likely authentic. Gems come up every once in a while.

That's interesting about the jersey . I bet you can make finds for clothes at thrift shops, but I've never found anything else there like autographs, cards, etc.  David

About 6 years at an estate auction a framed FDR signed photo was offered and the auctioneer said it was a facsimile signature. I was an autograph newbie but I liked the photo and was the only bidder at $5.00. When I got it home and examined it closely, it appeared to be signed in fountain pen and matched exemplars that I pulled up. There was an Ebay show in Columbus, Ohio that weekend and I drove there with my photo. I met Bob Eaton from R&R at this Ebay expo and showed him my photo. He deemed it genuine and offered me $500.0 on the spot. I thanked him but declined his offer. I came home had the photo reframed and it now hangs it my den.

I picked up an Andre Agassi personalized 8x10 at a garage sale maybe 10 years ago for $3-4. Great shot with that huge 1980s mullet he used to have. The only other autographs I ever found at a garage sale were a Jim Croce-signed LP two years ago that I got for a dollar (not real) and a Buffy St. Marie-signed LP that was a dollar at a different sale and I didn't get it. Probably should have, but I just didn't care enough to bother.

I went to a yard sale here in New Zealand last year. Along with a fantastic chair for $10 I saw a box of signed and framed items that I got for $25. Included were signed items from Sir Peter Jackson, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sir Peter Snell and many other famous Kiwis, best find I have ever made and framed as well made it even better.
