Does JSA reject any auto that has been previously Authenticated by OA, GAI, Score Board

I have read a few accounts of people buying items that have been authenticated by another lesser company like Gridiron Authentics, Online Authentics, GAI, and Scoreboard and submitted them to JSA who have rejected them. The people then tried to resubmit them to PSA/DNA who passed the item.

Its being rumored that JSA will reject any item that has a CoA from another company. I have a few items from other companies that I want authenticated but not sure if I should submit them to JSA or PSA/DNA. The benefit of JSA for me is that the company is literally 2 miles from my home and I could drive there and back and not worry about any shipping charges and packing.

What do you prefer?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that it was not a legitimate Scoreboard item.

Mr. Zipper, do you see any difference in the authenticity of the signatures of a Scoreboard item that had a (legitimate) COA that had Paul Goldin's name vs. one with Ken Goldin's? I know all COAs can be copied and placed with bad items, but the legitimate appearing COAs with Ken's signature (in my opinion) seem to be associated with more questionable signatures.

I am not sure if there is a pattern in regard to whether it is Paul or Ken. I have seen fakes of both.

I have a few original Scoreboard COAs and they have a watermark on the back. If you hold at an angle to the light you can see a ghosted pattern on the paper. And the paper is a slightly heavier weight, parchment colored paper stock.

I've never held a fake scoreboard coa in hand, but I doubt they have the ghosted pattern on the back. They look like plain old photocopies to me.

^Yep, I think that's what I had in mind.

This is what I was worried about also. I wanted to find out what people's experiences were if they ever brought their own items in that had a GAI or OI Hologram on it already.

On a Sidebar - this was posted on AML today. Seems Chris Morales has been banned by eBay.

Actually, that one was posted three years ago.  Morales is now soundly regarded as one of the most notorious villains in this hobby.

Morales is a crook.

If anyone wants a follow up. I bit the bullet and went ahead and got items with previous CoAs looked at by JSA. Derek Jeter and Deion Sanders from the same local sports shop, Marino from Gridiron, Jerry Rice from Online Authentic, Tom Brady with a local. The Jeter and Rice passed. Marino, Sanders and Brady failed.

The Jeter and Sanders were from the same store, same CoA. Jeter Passed. The Sanders was not an obvious fake. The Jerry Rice from Online Authentics passed. They had their tag on the item too. The Marino failed with the GA holo, the Brady failed.

A recent claim was that they only look at the signature, another was only the hologram. I'd think it's a little bit of both. Online Authentics was a reputable dealer in the past, and this item was from 2005 so JSA may have glanced at it and saw the info and gave it a pass. The GA was a little...off, not an obvious fake, but not an obvious fail. They could have just given it a quick glance, saw it was off, and then gave it an F. The Brady could have failed without a TriStar.

I don't now if anyone cares at this point but this was just my experience. I'd say its a little bit of both.

Would you recommend removing a GA sticker if you are taking it to JSA? I have a GA koufax that is identical to one my buddy got in spring training last year, and JSA is 3 miles from my apt today, and I'd like to get it jsa'd, but don't want to waste the money if the hologram will matter. Also, do you think they fail because of a removed sticker/hologram?

Why don't you show us the autograph? It's speculation with zero data otherwise.

GA has pumped tons of Koufax forgeries out. If it's certed by GA, there is a much greater chance it is pure crap, as opposed to authentic. (In fact about a 98% chance IMHO). Your idea of "identical" could be much different than someone who actually knows Sandy's autograph. Forgeries are meant to "look identical".  Here are some examples of 100% forgeries "certified" by Global Authentics:
