Hello,

Just joined back up. I just thought i would share my experience with a similar item. I had purchased the exact same type of document around 3 years ago from Roger Waters. I was thrilled that it was authentic and that their would be no issues if i ever needed to resale it, as it was a government document. I never planned on selling the item, until late last year when i needed some money and had doubles of Waters. I put the item up on ebay for sale and it was taken down later that day. I thought it was just a fluke so reposted it and again it was taken down and i was given a warning and a brief time in which i couldnt sell an item because i kept reposting it. I knew it was legit and so i couldnt see what the problem was. Finally i gave in and called the people their and i was told basically the same thing Roger said. That this type of document couldnt be sold because of its issuance. Whatever that means. IN any event i never was able to sell it on ebay. I sold it privately, but was to worried to try and sell it on any major site. I think its a great piece and that a private collector would love it. But im afraid that unless something has changed recently that Roger is right and that it cant be sold. Hope this helps

Patrick,

A cashed check would go back to the party who wrote it, so the Lennon check would not be government property. Each country can make its own rules regarding its documents, and I don't know UK rules for its landing cards.

Makes perfect sense.

I'm often surprised to see what interesting items turn up in auctions.  Songwriting agreements...division of fees agreements...record distribution contracts etc.  But I guess all that isn't gov't related and I suppose most governments are a bit more particular about their documents than public businesses.

Learn something new every day.

yeah these guys hey!!
My card was put on eBay by the customs
Official who got Dylan to fill
It out!! The thing is this is from a private flight
By Dylan so it is somewhat different
In the respect of actuall government property
It is seven years d with no comebacks
And there as to be a cut off point
But private collectors all want this from
Me it is not really a sell in piece but a bit of real
Dylan history
Thanks Robert

Its def a cool piece and i dont think youll have any trouble finding a buyer at the right price. But unfortunatley Roger is correct. If it hits ebay and the ebay guys are on their toes (like they were when i posted mine), they wont allow it. But they miss alot so it might go through. Ive actually seen a custom card once from Paul Simon that i was going to buy that had his fingerprints on it. A really cool item. It was on the UK version of ebay and he wouldnt sell to the US because he said it was illegal. Honestly i didnt care, lol, but he was right, the government forms like that are  just not allowed. Go figure. Because of my experience with ebay i know more on the subject than i wanted too. Unfortunately because its a government issued form it doesnt matter if it was a private flight or a commercial, its all the same in their eyes, and unfortunately their is also no expiration/time limit. But that doesnt mean its worthless, their are alot of government documents that are sold that technically shouldnt be. Its not enforced hard, at least off of ebay. Alot of collectors dont know this but if they try and sell such items, technically they could have them confiscated, lol. Sad but true
