eBay babe ruth auto

This ruth autograph was on eBay last week and was purchased for 643 dollars. This person simply relisted it. I emailed this person asking a few details about the ball to see what sort of response I might get and was given this response:

This was a family members who passed away recently. He was private with most of things. Best thing I can tell you is he showed me the ball at about 17 years old and I'm now 38. I was hoping to move some items quickly to help with final expenses but this is one piece I'm not afraid to have authenticated. Was hoping I could put it out there people would have fun with it, but looks like authorization is the way to go. Then 99% of these people can't afford it. Sorry just torn between quick money or Authorization that would take a special wealthy buyer and allot of time. Thanks

if the seller even had the slightest idea of the authenticity of this item, they would send it in, because of the potential increase in value. on that basis alone, (not to mention the signature itself), I would pass on this.

Hi. He is a new seller so maybe he really doesn't know anything about Ruth and how much he sells for. However, he does have another Ruth sig up, authenticated no less by Max Drew & AAU!!!
