One of the biggest scams during the last decade is sellers of forgeries using the old Scoreboard COA (edited/copied) to list and sell their forgeries.
The aforementioned scam has been all over Ebay for the last ten years.
The reason the scam is so successful is because over 80% of the people that buy autographs do not know autographs; they simply buy the COA; and that's because Ebay is so heavily-populated with delusional autograph collectors, impulse buyers and scammers.
But for the last few years, the latest scam has been the use of so-called Steiner Sports holograms to sell their forged Derek Jeter items like baseballs, photos, etc.
Check out this forged Derek Jeter baseball listed by Ebay seller Floodlegend.
This is as laughable as it gets.
You would be hard-pressed to find an uglier and more pathetic-looking Derek Jeter forgery than this one.
It looks like it was penned by a two-year old.
Anyone who thinks that this is an authentic Jeter autograph is a moron.
Ebay seller Floodlegend writes "I'll let the pics speak for themselves."
They are right about that; the "pics do speak for themselves."
