I bought a Babe Ruth piece from Field Of Dreams at the Rio Casino a few years back and I have battling with them to refund my money without any success. Instead they tried to over me a replacement for even more money. JSA confirmed that this autographed piece was not authentic even though it came with a Christopher Morales COA. This has been an on going battle with them for years that has gone from the store to the parent company that sells their Franchise Licenses. All I can say is Buyer Beware!

I was not aware of that Chris, Is Morales still in business authenticating memorabilia as a self proclaimed "Forensics Expert"?

sure is.

Well that sucks for all the other poor unsuspecting victims like myself!

at least not on EBAY much these days.

you have alot more going than a claim about fitzsimmons statement depending which course of action as outlined above starting with the T&Cs of the transactions.  Additionally, you used another of their "approved" authenticators.  Their ever changing proffers is indicative of false and deceptive business practices as well and clearly oomes through in their emails.

You ought to post the other items you purchased as misery loves company.

But Chris Morales's name is so notorious these days that at least one person calls him "Mr. Christopher" to his potential buyers.

The only reason that I gave up on this is that I felt that I was not going to get anywhere with these people. Anything short of a refund at one point was totally unaceptable! I should have known something was wrong from the get go when it took more than a month to get the piece shipped from Las Vegas to Massachusetts. They told me that the Matting on the back needed repairs, now that I think about it they were probably switching out the signatures!! It wouldnt have surprised me if thats exactly what happened!

Check the laws in Mass. You should be able to file a lawsuit in your state since they shipped it to you, perhaps even if they say you can't on your paperwork. And if Mass is one of the states that allows for exemplary damages, you can probably afford to have a lawyer handle it.

Is there a time limit because this was over 4 years ago that this happened?

I don't know. When did you discover it was a forgery, and when did they offer you a store credit? It should at least run from when you discovered the fraud, and it probably runs from when they gave you the store credit. But I'm not a lawyer, yada yada...

That would be November 4, 2007 when I asked JSA to authenticate it for me at the Annual GBSCC at The Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington Massachusetts.

What's the date of your last communication with them on the topic? Phone, mail, email, text message.

February 2009 when I gave up!
