I was thinking Devon, if you did remove it or try, there are 8 screws, 2 switch screws and three knobs to contend with - leave as is I think :)

My view on this has changed over the years. I used to think the more expensive the guitar that you get signed the better, but I do not feel that way anymore. I find that the higher end guitars are very enjoyable to play but I don't like to play signed guitar too much. I do like to get lower/mid range guitars artist signature series guitars signed. For example in my collection my Metallica guitar is a Kirk Hammet signature series guitar that sells for $900 unsigned. To me that is ideal where you get a nice looking guitar for a midrange price. I would hate to have my Gibson Les Paul Slash Appetite for Destruction guitar signed because I like to play the guitar and if it was signed I know I wouldn't want to play it. For me the high end guitars are for playing and low/mid range are for signatures. Also the quality of the signatures on the guitar is more important to me than the guitar that they are on.
I agree, the Fender Classics are in that range of $800. It would never occur to me to play it. To me its something akin to signature on a knock off photo or a double weight pearl finish lab photograph, or a repressing or original vinyl etc. One is preferable I believe.

Hi Devon,
Exactly, a Gimour sig on a 50's 2-tone Fender Classic Series Strat would be A-OK, or a 60's in black (maple neck might be available) with that "Hendrix" strap (thinking silver metallic pen on that black body!). But Gilmour on a ...what...a flying V or something ? Nooo. Hendrix tho....;)
We generally care a great deal (I know I do) about the photo or item we have signed and all its various qualities, why stop here? I'm not saying you need a steel block handmade by Callaham or from Celtarocker, but..not a fan of the cheaper guitars signed.
