Forged Roger Maris ball and more bad forgeries from eBay seller calgar44

It has become an everyday occurrence to see bad forgeries on eBay, but I had to make a discussion for eBay seller calgar44 .  He has too many forgeries up for sale that are not even close; he needs to be shut down.

Terrible Maris.

Yup, his Dimaggio is a laugher.

Was Mickey having a stroke when he signed that?

What a scammer!!!  Putrid-looking forgeries!!!

These sellers of forgeries know that Ebay no longer takes action on them, so they are now running amok on Ebay selling their crap forgeries!!!

The maris is really not that well executed either. It's just a really bad forgery no matter how you look at it.
I would have appreciated it if you contacted me and let me know these items were forgeries before trying to drag my name through the mud! I am a respected Ebay seller and my 100% feedback proves that!
I was asked to do a favor for a family member who bought these off of Ebay over 15 years ago and spent a lot of money. I had no reason to believe they were not real. He still has the original listings from Ebay and what he paid for them.
I have since taken down the items.

If you don't know autographs maybe you shouldn't be selling them.

Mr. Calgar44, for YEARS we all tried to alert sellers that they were listing and selling forgeries and all we ever got was "Mind your own business" or "These are authentic!!!."

So we stopped doing that.  Now we just expose sellers of forgeries.

That being said, thank you for taking down those auctions.

Chris is right. Every time a seller is notified they will reply negatively or question who you are and what makes you a professional. Though there is nothing that makes a person a professional. There are folks that charge for opinions but many if those are no better then an experienced collector.

EBAY sellers who sell forgeries should be listed here to warn others. You did the right thing and readers will know it. If they pop up again then everyone knows your still trying to sell them anyway.

Absolutely, Rick.

Many of us for years tried and tried to warn sellers about their forgeries and we always got dismissed as "Not knowing what you're talking about."

Now we just expose them.

Good job Mr. Williams getting those pieces of crap removed

Thanks, Dom, we all have to do our part.

Dom Vito...what's your real name?
