I own this Frank Sinatra signature. It appears to be a late 1940's fountain pen signature on a book produced to hold records although the records were to be bought separately. The signature is faded with partial loss. I believe this appears to be genuine but would like opinions of others.

I have also added a photo of the album book itself for viewing and it was also produced in the mid to late 1940's.

Thank-you.

Good to know Joe

This one is definitely a strange animal

Maybe we have covered all the bases

Maybe, and maybe not - but this is FAR better, more education (certainly) and much more FUN than paying for an opinion or a gosh dang sticker. Dreaded sticker. I can't even shop anymore. I saw a nice Simon Oakland...well, what was a nice Simon Oakland album page. Now it's a sticker with a signature. It overtakes the whole thing :( no attempt made to even get near the edge. Ruined.

I don't think a sticker would mean much with this piece. It will stay in my hands. I will probably leave for my kids to sort out after I am long gone. It will give them something to do!!

Myself and Eric share the same sentiments on stickers..  It's pure and simple VANDALISM

Looks like this is one item is ready for the "time capsule"

Was fun as Eric pointed out

One last but continued question ..

Has anyone seen a Sinatra stamp?

No. I haven't seen a stamped Sinatra.

Yes, it's been a pleasure and interesting. Wish we could have come up with a definitive answer. But, the mystery eventually will be solved. Thanks for all the extra effort!

One final observation. After looking at many, many Sinatra signatures, I'm almost convinced that every signature which includes, "Best Wishes", is a secretarial. I have not seen an authentic one yet which included that particular salutation.

That's a good observation. Perhaps something like the "Best wishes - " from Gleason. Never have I encountered a genuine example with a dash.

It may sound simplistic but, after looking at hundreds of Frank's signatures, I can't find one example where he added "Best Wishes". And signers have a habit of adding specific salutations more often than not. The only signatures which have "Best Wishes" have been secretarial.

well the consensus is no matter what, it wasn't Frank's hand

I'm still not ruling out a one of a kind metal stamp, which would indeed make indentations and could make a crossover appearance.

It's in your possession to study it further which is a bonus

That's affirmative although my study of it is done. Off into the closet it goes. I have, at least, gained a lot more instinct and education on Sinatra signatures. Which is what it's all about.
