Bought these recently in auctions.   Wanted opinions before I have JSA look at them.

I have issues with that Acuna in the R. It looks like he they stopped and started again.  And the loop in the R needs to be a crisp line.  This is not. And it is on a china ball.  Fair warning that autograph will most likely bleed very badly or you won't be able to see it in a couple of years.  It is a synthetic leather.

As for Freddie, his autograph has always worried me because it is so simple and can be easily duplicated.  I am no expert on either.  But my 5 looks different on all my Freeman's I currently own.  Doesn't mean much this photo could have been a sit down relaxed atmosphere.  I know all my Freeman graphs were with people around and rushed.

I circled what caught my eye.  Usually Acuna's R is a small straight line just like the ebay example you posted.  And those dots on yours looks possibly like the line was started stopped and started again. The rest does look fine to me.

Butters thanks so much for your help.

I sent photo to Beckett for quick review and it did not fail or pass they were unable to determine.

I went to the card show last weekend here in Atlanta and multiple people looked at it and said it might be real.

I tried to get a refund through PayPal and PayPal sided with the seller.  We’ll see what AMX does.  With Beckett  not failing it I don’t have proof that is fake.

The same person was selling another one of these balls on eBay so I’m gonna send you the photos.  Seems like they got a whole bunch authenticated by PAAS at the same time.  The certificate number was three higher than mine. When I ask them  did they get it personally signed, they said sorry it already sold at the card show and removed it off eBay this morning.  I found that suspicious.   Look at this other ball they posted and give me your opinion if I should have the one I bought looked at by JSA for 20 bucks.

i’m already in the hole now $128(118 for the ball and 10 for Beckett)

Request a return through ebay, item not as described, and ebay will step in and refund you even if the seller isn't responding.

I requested a refund item not authentic.   eBay only gives a money back guarantee for up to 30 days I’m now at almost two months.  Have you heard of ebay back someone outside of the 30 day window ?

Yes, I have gotten my money back beyond 30 days. Have you received notifications from ebay after requesting a refund? If so, what did they say? If ebay fails to refund then you still have an option of filing a request through paypal. Paypal is 180 days, just go to the resolution center in ebay and open a dispute, will take a couple of weeks but you will get it. If you log in to paypal there is instructions on how to open a dispute.

I did that PayPal sided with the seller

AMX is my best bet I think

so why did paypal side with the seller?  was it because there was a coa from PAAS or because beckett didnt fail it

He said they only cover if item is not as described or didn’t receive the item.

I had said item was not authentic and had professionals look at it and said it was fake.  I had not had Beckett look at it yet.  I assume seller showed the COA from PAAS and PayPal doesn’t get involved in determining which ones are legit.

I don't know if this has been brought up but I will throw out a couple of thoughts.

I assume you paid via Paypal. Did you use a credit card to pay for these? If so, you can file a dispute with your credit card issuer. They have the ultimate power over your account and can override Paypal. Plus, they usually side with their customer(you).

I'm not sure how much you paid for these items but it may be worth your cost to submit them for a full authentication with PSA. If they fail you have a good case to get your money back.

In the item's description what is the seller's return policy? If it is a lifetime guarantee you have recourse should your item fail a recognized third party service.

Finally, PAAS is not an approved eBay approved authentication service. Be careful when you see certs not issued by one of their approved services. That's a red flag in my opinion. They are of no more value than a generic COA.

is the seller a big player on ebay because unfortunately they  can have a symbiotic relationship with   the main authentication companies when they submit bulk items which all pass.

If you paid a lot for the item it may be worth as Joe says trying to get a full coa with psa, - but if you didnt pay that much it may be worth leaving it & chalking it up as a learning curve .  If you use your card provider to file a section 65/chargeback  claim it will be your coa against the one your buyer issued so its worth a try, - but it can be a very long and stressful experience.  You can appeal once as can your buyer against the decision reached by the  ccard issuer.  What kind of loss are we talking about?
