I was cleaning out my parents attic and found an old letter from George Bush Sr that I got when I was in elementary school. I think it was part of a school project - we all wrote letters to the president and I guess I got a reply. The letter is obviously generic and bulk printed etc. But I'm wondering if there is any chance the signature is real? It looks like his signature but I can't tell if it was signed with a pen or if it was just printed.
Do presidents sit and sign these types of letters ever? Or are they just stamped or printed. Is there a chance gwb actually signed this? How can I tell for sure?
I'll save it as a keepsake but if the signature was real maybe I'd get it framed or something.
Thanks
H

In all likelihood, generic correspondence from a sitting president is preprinted or Autopen machine signed. However, the only way to know for sure is to show it here and seek opinions.
