If you want an even bigger laugh look at the robe they say was Muhammad Ali's. It's 100% FAKE.
If you need more info on why the robe is fake I'll gladly chime in with reasons but for now go take a look

Have you tried emailing the shop itself to tell them that their items are fakes? I'm sure that they'd take them down. I somehow saw your post and the Hulk Hogan boots post as one.

I agree with you. They seem to have a good amount of legit stuff, but recently it seems that they've been trying to sell items that their "experts" pass as authentic.

All the pawn shops from the TV shows are the same. The autograph community has been embarrassed time and time again when a blatant forgery is brought in, given the green light, and to the best of our knowledge, resold to another customer. Pawn Stars finally seemed to do something about it by getting rid of Drew Max. But the pawn stars guys, dont really even seem to be selling out of there pawn shop anymore.
If you watch some of the utube vids of people who go into the shop, its pretty shocking. The store basically seems to have been turned into a tourist trap more than anything else. One guys video was showing that most of the store (fairly small place) was devoted to pawn stars memorabilia, and the impression you get on tV was incorrect. He was showing around and most of the display cases were filled with what appeared to be junk. Just random kid toys and nick nacks. Nothing like what you see in the tv show. He said the times he went there no one was there from the show, and there were no pawn deals even going on. Just tourists looking around the shop. The items on the walls were there that you see in the show, but the cases were empty or filled with what looked to be just filler items.
He went on that the Hardcore Pawn shop was huge, and showed a vid of it. And he said that while walk in people couldnt get anywhere near the main guys on the show without permission, that the guys you see on tv were all there each time he went making deals. And that the shop was an actual functioning pawn shop.
Yet i have watched unbelievably stupid autograph deals go down on both shows. Where basically zero effort was given to authenticate the material, unless thats not shown on air. IN the case of the hardcore pawn guys, what always happens, is that they are shown the material, they then go back and look up when a similar autograph is going for with a COA, and then they come back and make the offer. But you can tell that its all about the COAs. I have heard Seth on more than one occassion talk about how awesome the item was and the fact that it had two COAs made it so much better. I dont think these shops really are putting much effort at all into authenticating the material. If it has a COA, then i think the item is generally accepted.
But on the same token, i wouldnt expect an avg pawn shop to put the kind of work that we do in to authenticating an autograph. Pawn shops are about quick returns, and i think most just kinda go with it. No ill intent involved, i think they just get the item, and resale if it comes with a COA> The difference would be, what do they do when they are alerted by a concerned party that they are fake.

This is my impression as well. The Pawn Stars guys may have learned a lesson about the credibility (or lack of) regarding authenticators. But the Hardcore Pawn shop apparently accepts ANY COA as credible.
I stopped watching Hardcore Pawn about a year ago. While it was mildly entertaining for a period, it got old fast and you could tell the family drama was purely fabricated. They are all terrible actors. Plus, the show just really appeals to the worst "peeking at a car wreck" impulses of people. Not a quality way to spend 30 minutes.

In a recent episode of Pawn Stars, Corey paid $150 for a Chuck Yeager autograph (with PSA) on a postal cover. You'd be lucky to get $50 for it on eBay.
For that price, I'd happily provide 20 or so similar covers for $150 a pop.

Did you see the episode? He claims to have got them from someone who got them from someone who got them from his dad. What's up with that?!
A quick google search will show Ali Jr has been estranged from his dad for years. Also he sold them both for $500. The tags indicate a recent robe and could not have been training worn. Also there's a few of the exact same robes on eBay. Also Ali authenticator Steve Jackson has confirmed it's not real
Haven't even looked at the gloves but is assume fake since the robe is

Yes Carlos , I understand that Muhammad and his son Muhammad Jr. aren't close.Yes ,I did see the episode and since Muhammad Jr. was soft spoken ,I have watched it several times on youtube.Here is how I take it , The people from Detroit Pawn are misrepresenting the robe from how Muhammad Jr. sold it to him.The way I heard it even thought Muhammad Jr. is distant from his father,he got the robe from retired fighter Howard Davis Jr.Muhammad Jr. said his father wore the robe for the picture shoot with Joe Frazier.He never stated that his father wore the robe in any type of training.This is where I feel Detroit Pawn changed the story. This said the robe might have been authenicately worn by his father for that picture shoot.Since he brought up Davis Jr. name and it was fake ,I would think that Howard Davis Jr. or somebody in the Ali family would contest the validity of the robe.
Now about the gloves ,he did say his mother told him that Muhammad Ali worn them training for one of the Frazier fights.You bring up a good point about the $500.To you ,I and others why would he take $500 for something that is real? IMO ,I think people who are desperate for money have done worse.Sometimes people on the other side also realize from experience that when people are in need of money ,they could be easy prey.
About the second link you posted about the person overseas selling the robe,I contacted him stating that Detriot Pawn had the same robe used for that Ali-Frazier photo shoot,he just said to me ,Oh well.I don't think that Detriot Pawn's Ali robe was a"training worn" robe but there is a good possibilty that it the same robe from that photo shoot.At the present time how could one say it is not ?
