Hi David.  Saw several of your recent posts and have no experience with any of these signatures.  However, wanted to continue to learn so took a shot at this one.

First, I believe this signature is authentic and very similar to the below signed letter found on Heritage Auctions.  However, based on several likely authentic examples I studied, it appeared to me that she often did not close the top of the "D" as in your example, although the "aniel" portion looks spot on.  Also, she often made the "tt" the same height rather than slanting up as these examples.  Finally, the "Mc" in your example appear to have more pointed peaks of the "M" and an extra swirl at the initiation of the "c" than other examples I found.

Having never studied this signature before, she appears to have some natural variation in her signature and I wanted to share these observations FWIW.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking a look beardog1. Another real one for your exemplar collection.

Spot on, if you ask me.

As always Joe W., thanks for the look.
