I was wondering if we could compile a comprehensive thread of real Heath Ledger signatures. I know he's real tough because his signature had variations towards the end of his life. Please post any in person or confirmed authentic examples you've got, and share any traits we should be looking for when authenticating.

I'm afraid I have nothing to offer but my request. I can copy and paste stuff from AW or RR, but that'd be cheating!

the pictures are from may, november, december 2007.

heath was filming in london for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. 5 days before his death.

not everyone uses sites like these, nor do many people care about sites like these, its only the people that are interested as a hobby or dealer etc .

I must say people are quick to jump the gun to deem everything fake because they have never seen something before and alot of that is because they have no in depth knowledge of what was available to be signed at the time. ive found a link which you lot never even came across before, and those images were around when heath was alive, there is a big possibility there are some genuine signed ones out there and just because "reputable" dealers have never had them, it dont mean they dont exist, some poor fan could have it hanging on there walls and only to be discovered in like 50 years away when they have died or possibly inherited a piece. People need to think outside the box and gain more knowledge and do the homework before stating " there was only 2 photo off heath as joker available" .

warner bros released alot of the film as teasers while they were still filming the dark knight to build anticipation.

and then again "authenticity" is a grey area.

Once again, seeing is believing. We need to see some. The one posted is not one.

i agree the one with heath as the joker in the cell, is not legit for one reason. That picture was not released until after his death. This is my opinion, but if the owner is happy, then its upto them to believe what they want.

if i was take a guess plucking straws from my memory, that image was available after the premiere.

from my knowledge of the pictures that ive seen of heath as the joker that were released in 2007, it very well possible there are some out there. maybe in some school girls attic going to waste.

but then again, what do people class as an authentic heath autograph?

Sure there might be a few genuine ones out there but its simply that so far we are not seeing them. Just poor forgeries.

judging by heaths autograph, would you think they were genuine and not done by a 5 year old in the end lol, im going to ask round friends and see if they ever got anything in person in london when heath were there before his death, theres got to be something that someone has.

Heath Ledger autograph, here is some good information,Heath ledger signed anything put in front of him,and his autograph was really sloppy. A five year old could of signed better. Heath Ledger had a secratary signing for him,and as for these so called PSA/DNA,AUTHENTICATIONS,and the hundreds more that will authenticate anything you got for a fee, they are all out to get your money when they actually dont know whats real and isnt. There is a ole saying if you dont see it signed in front of you dont buy it. Ive seen all those so called COA's. And they all read mostly in the opinion,we all can have a opinion. When it comes to autographs its risky business, and all that PSA/DNA and Holograms that anyone can buy and stick on a photo and COA,is a joke. Heath Ledger is gone, and he sure sucked face on BrokeBack Mountian,Id kiss Jake also for the amount of money Heath got paid to kiss Jake. I know all you he men would say never would you kiss another man and claim to be straight, yea right. As for Heaths authentic autograph, not one can say they know the real from the not so real,a opinion is not worth the paper its printed on. I could give anyone a opinion, dosent mean I am correct. A fool is born everyday, and my opinion, just my opinion,I'd never buy a autograph on Ioffer,Ebay,sell.com and the many other sites. As for Spirit Autographs, they did have postings on google showing stars signing their stuff, and they are in Las Vegas. I do know thats fact. Been to Vegas and they are known there. I think they may be out of business from my last account. Ive bought thousands of autographs for the past 11 years,to learn I got took,on Ebay, yes Ebay. Now i am stuck with memorabilia I cant give away. I watched on Ebay,Elizabeth Taylor photos secraterial signed for for hindreds, and her real items most was over looked. For the public was use to seeing the secraterial ones and didnt know the real. Same with Michael Jackson,he had a secraterary signing for him,the Dixie Chicks is another, and oh yes Dolly Parton,so how is anyone to really know. Do the research. Alot of people have beautiful signed items that are not real, and if the buyer is happy with what they bought, dont rain their parade.

Actually you are not completely correct. At one point Heath would sign anything then later he became much more difficult to obtain.

I don't know about him having any secretary because we don't ask for autographs via the mail from any celebrity. All of our authentic examples of Heath's autograph are from when we got him in-person.

I live by the you can't be sure unless you see it get signed axiom myself.

I have been collecting and dealing in IP autographs for quite a long time. After you have years of looking at authentic material you start to develop an eye for the bad stuff. Each and every person has certain traits that are always part of their handwriting. When they go missing I take notice.

And yes I have watched 'Spirit Autographs' for many years and not once did I see an authentic autograph come from them. Their crap was all over eBay at one point but luckily they were booted. Anyone can post photos with celebrities all that matters is if the autograph is authentic. With them it never was (at least of what I saw anyway).

This site is not about 'raining on' anyone's parade. Its about authentic autographs. Simple as that. If a person comes here and ask for our opinion we are going to give it. They do not have to accept it nor believe it.

You have to understand one simple thing about so called autograph dealers- The good ones who deal in authentic materiel get a reputation for this and spreads across the world. Customers then visit their stores and the reputation continues to build. Dealers who deal in forgeries either get no reputation or get exposed on sites like this.

When we see companies like Spirit Autographs or Sasha Sadie Pup and others who list autographs for nothing and have an endless supply of the most difficult names we take notice. The IP collector community is quite small and when you start asking around and nobody sells to them or have never see them out collecting you already really know enough to avoid them. If you still want to look at the material it is never a surprise when it is bad.

BTW Rex are you an in-person collector?

With all due respect Rex, i think youll find that most collectors disagree with most of what you just said.

Rex,

Hopefully, this site will updated your views about a great many things. "raining on parades" is Important Incase the oh-so-happy owner decides to sell or trade the non-authentic item that they own.

You are correct that there are FAR better ways to obtain authenticity opinions than PSA. This site is one of them. Even though it's "loosely" tied to PSA, there are very real and honest collectors who are willing to give opinions & advice for free. Most will even back up their opinions with visuals to show Why and how they came to their findings. That is for sure a service authentication companies will not provide.
This site isn't tied in any way to PSA, Brandon. Why do you keep saying we are?

Hey Steve, don't take this the wrong way but, your site may or may not be 'Tied' to PSA (How would any of us really know?) but even the most casual reader will quickly discover, by simply reading your posts, that things sway in a very specific and obvious direction.

Hi Michael,

What specific and obvious direction do you think people are seeing things sway?
