So every year Bill has his Murray Bro Charity golf tournament every year . I always wanted to go and saved my money up one year 2017 to go and happens to be the one year he didn’t show so I was pretty bummed . Busy still had wonderful time though I was there for Bill Murray as I’m huge fan . Each year they do donations through Prizeo app and I would always see Ghostbusters signed poster by Bill if you paid certain amount . Early on they were $250 then went up to $500 years later. So I purchased one and money went to great cause however when I received the poster the autograph ink looked odd to me . It could be because it’s done by those nice gel silver markers but you don’t see the typical inconsistencies of marker moving quickly on the signature . It seemed almost perfect . This def came from Murray Bro Caddyshack restaurant which I love !! Been there twice so far. However I saw a photo on their Facebook page that made me more concerned . Another poster that was won by someone at restaurant and the autograph is nearly 99% identical! The angle , way things lineup is scary close to mine to not be concerned I paid lot of money for auto pen autograph. Now I don’t want to bad mouth the restaurant or Murray Bro Charity event whatsoever. I fully support it and it’s for great cause . I hope I can make it down next year so bad as I still had great time . I know my money was donation and to good cause but I’m very concerned after seeing this photo on Facebook look nearly identical and already had suspicions about it from get go . Anyone familiar with auto pens tips or feedback would be great ! Here are the pics of mine and one on Facebook . I can only find one settle difference is the Y on my poster ends just above the H letter below it and the Facebook photo his Y goes just past it by very small bit . But everything else looks identical . I know autopens also look for dots ending and starting as well as shaky likes . It’s pretty smooth throughout though the Y looks little unnatural.

Let me be clear in no way am I accusing Murray Bro Restaurant or the charity event giving out fake auto pen autographs however i am not concerned I donated lot of money that went to good cause but for possibility of autograph that was done by auto pen after seeing another photo of same poster where the autograph lines up way too close for concern and has me wondering . So any feedback would be great.

First photo is split to compare . Mines on left side and other Facebook photo from restaurant is on right. Second photo is better shot of my poster and third is the one from Murray Bro restaurant Facebook photo giveaway I saw .

And thanks to Eric as well. I only found this info because he mentioned Bendix

that is an interesting point though if he was associated with politics in 1944.

So when I look at this autograph under magnifying glass it almost looks spongy with very small variations of movement where it over laps . I’m gonna have to send this out for authentication. I just sent an 8x10 to psa but I spoke to guy really nice Justin from newer company Autographcoa ACOA . He said they specialize in Bills autograph particularly and do authentication on weekly basis seem to be approved by lot of great legit companies. I may give them a shot for this one since I know it’s Bill Murrays signature just not sure whether it’s hand signed which leaning to it’s not but like to know the way it was done . Also contacted caddy’s restaurant asking them nicely because no way do I want to bad mouth them I love that place just this has me little disturbed of course . Especially after paying lot of money for it expecting real hand signature. Hope I hear from them

I dont want to stop you from doing something you want to do, especially if you will use this authentication opinion as grounds to fight the restaurant.. but i think everyone that has posted on here so far agrees this is a fake, just not exactly how 100%. Eric is certain its an autopen and im leaning that way as well but refuse to state one way or another without physically seeing it in different lighting and up close, to see how the signature reacts when light reflects off of it, also to see definite pen stroke marks with clear overlapping. We believe It is a fake because its easy to see these signatures match up with each other and seem to be the same template. Thats always a clear sign as no one can ever sign their signature 100% the same way.. id say continue to do your own research, wait for more comments on here and a possible reply from the restaurant before thinking about if 3rd party authentication is required.

Usually third party authentication is used to determine if an autograph is real or not.

In this case it seems it will be used to determine if it's an autopen or stamp.

Anyway, maybe the OP does need a formal ruling to support subsequent action.

In any case, I'll be interested in the results.

I agree now. But id love to try helping Kenny  and figure this out ourselves if we can. He has spent a lot of money on this already.. but it is also true if you need this info to fight for a replacement or money back, its best to have an explanation from a trusted well known 3rd party source

That’s my only concern is I trust and agree with everyone here on opinions and can’t thank you all enough for your help means a lot . My only concern is when I do hear back from them it would be nice to have reputable party to backup my opinion. Though I’m already convinced it’s not hand signed . Even the day it came before I knew anything about autographs it looked off to me. Thank you all again ! I appreciate all your help !

I appreciate that thank you ! I will take that advice and hopefully hear back from restaurant. Thank you for your help ! Really appreciate It . Sucks I don’t want to be rude to restaurant as I love that place but at same time it’s pretty screwed up to do what they are doing . Thanks again .

sorry, its been a long morning, i misread your message.. you also agree its most likely fake, just want to know how.. there may be ways on here to figure that out for free still. Can you shine light on it creating a glare over the signature and take a close up photo in focus as much as possible? Im curious to know exactly what you are seeing under a microscope

I will try my best been trying to get clear photo . Will do that when I get home . Won’t be back till tomorrow will post . But what I’m seeing is ink is raised bit so not printed and held it up to light from back to confirm it’s not just a print . So are the only other options autopen or stamp? When I look with magnify glass it does overlap ink in areas and shines like typical silver paint marker but looks almost spongy instead of smooth motion . I’ll try get some better close ups .

So far this is best I have
