Hi all, just wondering everyone's thoughts on how accurate ACOA Pre-Certification is. Given this is a photo-only method of certification, how accurate would this be compared to ACOA full authentication or authentication from PSA, Beckett or JSA? Would you be comfortable using this as proof of authenticity without even sending the item in?

Hi,

I bought a signed Clark Gable, Joan Crawford 11x14 photo from "Art Of Music."  After hearing about the company's reputation, I doubted the photos authenticity.  After studying Mr.

Gable's signature for about a year, I was convinced it was authentic.  I sent the autograph in to AutographCOA.  Sure enough, it came back as authentic.

They also authenticated an old inscribed 8x10 "Ward Bond" photograph for me.

As for me, I trust their judgements.  Not cheap, but most quality services never are.

Aboht " The Art Of Music" out of Las Vegas, I contacted them about my doubts with the autographed photo's authenticity.  The told me to pack it up, ship it back, and they'd issue me a full refund.

Personally, I have nothing but good to say about "The Art Of Music."  The man I spoke with was as helpful as he could be.

Thanks.

Mike

That is, by far, the nicest thing I have ever seen written about this "company". At least you got your money back. I would never go near them again.

No, actually I didn't get my money back.  I held on to the photograph because I spent so much time studying Gable's signature.  I was convinced it was authentic.

Months later I sent closeup photos of the signature, and the photo to AutographCOA for online exam.  After about a week I got an exam report stating that the signature had been certified as authentic.

You got lucky, very lucky. That source is a pit of garbage. It takes many, many devoted years and examining carefully with notes and dates hundred or thousands of exemplars to develop an eye for this.

I agree.  I've only been collecting for a couple years now.  It's been a somewhat expensive learning process.  I don't know it all, but I have learned some hard lessons.

I appreciate you sharing your input with me.  I'm still new to "Autographsmagazine."  I don't know the standard operating procedures yet.  But I do want to learn.

I have developed a real passion for collecting autographs. I'm quite sincere in my desire to deal only in authentics. I'm not a crook, and I don't like forgers.

Thanks,  Mike.

Hi,

I've paid Beckett for online review a number of times.  I'm personally not all that comfortable with a $10 online evaluation done in 5 minutes late on a Sunday afternoon by Lord on knows who.

I feel really comfortable with AutographCOA online exams.   They seem to have the experienced staff, and take the time needed for a more thorough analysis of the signature in question.  Also, I have read their staff bio's. Pretty impressive!  I trust them.

+1 a very good service with a lot of very good eyes.
