Sorry, this is not real at all.
LP is a forgery. More eBay garbage they won't remove.
So the thing about this LP, I have on good authority that it is genuine. Got it signed in person by a top radio executive who worked for a rock radio station in Landover, MD. He met the band when they played some shows at the capital center in ‘77
So why does it not appear authentic? I have a variant of that story for so many artists iot is not funny. Do you have documentation of this 1977 signing for the man you bought this from?
Bruce Juice has one of the very best sets of eyes here and experience as well.
I don’t have documentation per se, but the gentleman I got it from has deep ties in the industry and is good friends with a man named Ron Wray from central NY. Mr. Wray has personally met EVERYONE. He is a historian at Syracuse music and I’ve seen the proof of many personal interactions with big names. Hendrix, Joplin, Elton, Clapton, Page, James Brown, Jethro Tull, Gregg Allman, Angus Young…I mean the list goes on and on. The person I got it from has it in a very expensive frame with museum glass and said if it doesn’t pass PSA/DNA or JSA he will gladly refund my money and he’s so certain it’s genuine that he’s not even concerned about it. I have been in constant communication with him since, and he’s not only a lovely human, but a genuine collector of legitimately acquired memorabilia.
The item is (albeit expensively) framed? You did not examine it in hand?
So, with this mans reputation, you can certainly return it? What is his policy? If it fails will he pay the submission fee? That is what I would have asked, apart from having it removed from the frame.Auction houses only sell framed items "as is" - for a reason.. Have you sought any other opinions. like Roger Epperson?
I haven’t received it yet as it was just shipped this morning. Yes I can return it if it fails, and I am going to remove it from the frame before I send it in. You are correct in that I should have clarified with him about the submission fee, but I am willing to bet he would be more than happy to work with me on that as well. He paid nearly $150 out of his own pocket to ship it to me. I don’t know, the guy isn’t shady at all and has TONS of this stuff in his personal collection that he has received from very few people, he only bought verifiable pieces from either people he knew personally, or could be verified completely, or he got them himself. I mean he just had lunch with his son and Brian Wheat from Tesla. The guy is literally in all these pictures.
Careful, check with the seller - check to see that you are not violating any terms by de-framing the item and rendering it not returnable. That is the usual "out."
If there is a problem with it being de-framed, then just return it while you can IMO. I would be guided by the folks in this thread. Unless you have a photo of this exact item being signed, I am not really placing any weight on that stuff.
I just asked him and he said it’s fine to remove it from the frame for authentication and figured it would have needed to be anyway. I guess we’ll see, I really hope it’s good. He has a lot of others I’m very interested in as well.
See if he has a Bowie to offer. That is my area.
I saw Journey, SRV, Pink Floyd, Gregg Allman, ac/dc, skyryrd, no Bowie
