I don't know how rare it is, but it sure is nice! The inscription and the signature both look great to me.

Thanks Steve

Thanks Mark.
Hey guys...haven't seen this one before but there is no doubt it is authentic. It would have been signed for Gary Pepper. He ran the "Elvis Tankers" fan club. Gary and his family lived near Elvis in Memphis and Garys dad Sterling Pepper worked at the front gate at Graceland. I expect that this photo may have been part of the Leslie Hindman auction several years ago of the Gary Pepper collection, but I can't confirm that. If the name Gary Pepper doesn't ring a bell, you might recognize him as the young adult in a wheel chair who greeted Elvis at the train station when he returned home in 1960. Gary suffered terribly from cerebral palsy.
Yes Don, I always thought it was for Gary Pepper, because its written" your friend ".
YUP!! That's where I seen it. The Gary Pepper collection sale was held in 2009
Steve, Is there a link to the Gary Pepper collection sale done in 2009?
I have the Pepper catalog and I looked thru it but didnt see it. I know I saw this in an auction catalog once, thought it was Peppers. Sorry. Maybe someone here may remember which auction it was.
