Hello everybody!

I'm glad to announce my autograph collecting days are finally over, I got the last signature on my list and can now retire from this ugly business.

Don't get me wrong, if you're out there actually meeting celebrities and getting their signatures IP then my hat goes off to you, that's what this hobby should be about after all. But if you're like me, forced to buy autographs from a dealer or from eBay, you know this is a world run by gangsters and scam artists.

And it doesn't look like things are getting better either.

I would take this opportunity to thank you, the members and staff here at AML, for educating and helping people like me.

Here's a link to my gallery where I've posted every autograph, please feel free to add a comment or message me if you find something you think doesn't look right.

I've done my best to only purchase autographs from reputable dealers or other sellers recommended by AML members.

I love your post but I don't believe you because collecting is like an addiction and you may be going through a rough patch right now but as a fellow addict I can tell you I have ups and downs too and sometimes it can be rough but I get right back up on the horse and continue to collect. The hobby is getting brutal with the advent of Ebay and celebrities thinking everyone who wants an autograph is out to make a buck off them and forgers out to ruin the hobby but we in the hobby must stick together and fight the good fight. I get tired of some celebrities telling me to go take a hike and I truly the get picture with them being hounded daily by people with 10-20 items in their hands and you know these celebrities know what these people are there for but you get some you have nice experience with actually taking a picture with and signing a photo so this makes me want to continue with the hobby. I say do not give up on it just take a break for a while but do not give up the fight and the hobby!

David,

Congratulations on filling your list! That's something to be proud of. The hobby is getting better and safer, mostly thanks to collectors like members of this site, but it takes time. In five years I think it'll be dramatically safer.

Your gallery is very nice and you did a good job of getting real ones for even the tough ones like Murray. But don't fool yourself... I thought I was done when I got my first Murray. Now I have 9! It gets to the point that when you know a good signature and you spot a deal, you can't let it go!
