I came across this Alec Guinness signed photo at the end of June, being sold by Press Pass Collectibles on eBay:
Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131857869542
And here is a screenshot with datestamp of me sending the link to a buddy of mine to show it was listed in June under the same name and item #:
Here is the ebay listing:
Many know Press Pass has a reputation for flipping stuff on eBay for crazy prices. They had it listed for $1499 Buy it Now, which is very high for this particular piece. I added it to my watch list and left it alone.
Fast forward to last week when I was looking through Iconic's monthly auction, I noticed the same photo in their auction:

I placed a bid around $400, and was outbid a few days later. Final price was $943.25 including buyers premium.
So fast forward again to this week, and the same photo has been relisted by Press Pass on eBay for $1499 with the same listing and item number as before:

I thought that was pretty sketchy, so I did some digging. If you take a look at the Press Pass website, under their contact information here:

You will notice the address is the same as Iconic Auctions:

So what do you think is going on? It seems to me that they suspended the eBay listing, put it through Iconic and shill bid up to their minimum. Apparently they weren't willing to let it go for $754 ($943 with buyers premium), so they simply relisted it on ebay for $1499 just like it was before.
I noticed this because I actively track rare Star Wars autographs, but who knows how many items they could be doing this with. Let me know your thoughts.

They seem to still be up to their tricks shill bidding up items owned by Press Pass/Iconic (both operate from the same location) and deleting the bid history post auction. I can't even see the items anymore on Iconic as they were immediately relisted on Ebay by PressPass and any history of those items included are deleted. But I can tell you of at least 3 items they listed in this January 2025 auction that went for well under their ebay asking price that were "sold" at auction and are mysteriously listed again by PressPass on ebay. These same items have showed up in multiple auctions previously and "sold" as well only to be relisted on ebay and at auction again months later. Look if you have a reserve price just list it that way, but you consign items from collectors and whatever they sell for is market price so whatever someone is willing to pay. You have no issues taking 23% on those sales and sticking it to the consignor though. Very unethical and I would avoid listing or bidding.
