Hi I'm looking for opinions on this signature please. It belonged to my dad who was an avid autograph collector. Thanks.

Hi Notanurse

This looks good to me so far. It is very unusual in it's tidiness, freshness and seems to be written with a sharpie of some kind? It lacks the spidery quality most of her signatures have, but she was a changeable gal.

Just looking through my blog, which you might like to have a look at it, there are about 50 signatures to compare it to.  I can usually tell approximately when an autograph was written, what year, but I can't tell here.

Timeline of Marilyn Monroe Autographs

Be interested to hear others thoughts. This has to be 60 years old but looks so new. So that and the tidiness are my only reservations as all the hallmarks are there. I even found a similar messed up "e" on Love on my blog.

Thanks Pauline for your input. This was written on card and my dad framed it with a picture of Marilyn but unfortunately I dont know where he came across the signature itself.

Pauline I was looking through my dads lists of items he has collected and next to where he has written the entry on Marilyn it says 'boys report card 50s/60s, Roosevelt High, Hollywood'. I'm not sure if this is what the autograph is on - i may need to take the frame apart to try and get a closer look at it.

Hi Again

I can't fully go with this signature as it has a few things that bother me. This picture below is of a real signature that is as close as I can find, in tidiness etc. It has hallmarks this signature lacks, especially the way the capital Ms are formed. See what you think?

The more you know the better.

I did not care for the presentation. Undedicated clean unnaturally legible signature. looking fresh and frame-able.It is what I call "that look"...

Yes, I hate giving people bad news. And I tend to be more positive, but it's fails in many ways.

Thank you both.  No problem on giving bad news, my conscience needs to be clear for sure before I can think about selling on my dad's collection.

Sorry it wasn't better news. Pauline knows her stuff!
