My wife purchased this Jimi Hendrix Experience autographed guitar for me.  Can I get your thoughts, it comes with authentication papers, but this is my first foray into music memorabilia, I only own sports memorabilia.  This was a significant purchase...Thoughts??

I don't think this is good sorry...old guitar sloppy newer signatures. To own a guitar actually signed by Hendrix would be an utter rarity...dead at 27...

Appreciate your feedback Jason.  If anyone else has thoughts, I would welcome them.  This was $13k, so expensive.  Thanks again!

Wow 13k. I think this item would be up in the 100k range if real...

At least...

Jason... would you happen to know how many felt pen signed guitars exist, if any?

Felt pen sigs were pretty rare back then.

These sigs do resemble newer ink IMO. There is absolutely no wear on them at all.

+1 on that!

God bless your wife. Unfortunately, the signed guitar is not genuine. Hope you can return it.

This would be in the order of several hundred thousand dollars or more - if genuine. He could not dive bomb with that vibrato unit either.

Eric... would you happen to know when the common felt pen was used?

A google search says not until the mid to late 70's and they were only fine tip

Although there were stranger devices, what we know as a felt tip came in 1962, very common by 1970. Think of all the vintage Star Trek signed photos. Very smart question - when was that guitar issued as well. Signs of being strung backwards etc... but this won't pan out I don't think!

thx Eric

BTW.... that is NOT a Hendrix guitar

I'd like to know the make/model though

Sean, that is OBVIOUS!
