I would like your opinions on this item. It’s priced at over $700 but I know that doesn’t make it real. I also know PSA can be wrong. I have tried to find known authentic examples of Helen Keller’s autograph but unfortunately I think many of those examples provided are fakes since I learned she has had a secretary sign for her at times. I also know she is heavily forged so it’s very difficult to find sure examples that are authentic. I also don’t want to overpay for one so I need to know if it’s reasonable that I can buy one for $500 or less. I am fine with it just being a signature and it’s okay if it’s personalized - I just want to be sure it’s very likely to be actually signed by her.

"...I need to know if it’s reasonable that I can buy one for $500 or less..."

Signatures have closed for over $540 and up to $1880 (slabbed Gem Mint 9) at RR since 8/20 with most about $600 - $900. Other houses and venues will show other results.

I have noticed that but I also know RRAuction’s items usually go for far more than authentic autographs sold elsewhere for the same item. For example a Walt Disney signed check brings about $10,000 on RRAuction these days but if patient and lucky one can be found on eBay for $3000.

True. At the same time a lot of material for sale at well known dealers, eBay and other places starts out at RR and gets "revalued" when sold again. But some great deals can be found at RR as well.

I just found the current Helen Keller signature they are offering this month was previously sold on eBay for $325. On RRAuction it is already at $484 (and that’s before their 25% premium) and once auction ends will probably go much higher.

That could also be said of many well known dealers etc. Not surprising. It had a COA from Alexander but no returns, which turns people off even if not executable. RR as a rule has a wide audience for specific material and they advertise very well.

It is now also precertified by PSA.

True. It’s much better assurance buying it from RRAuction.

And the COA, could have been Alexanders Historical (good), or some other "Alexanders".

"...(and that’s before their 25% premium)..."

As an aside, many collectors factor that into their final bid and hope for the best. It is among the best ways not to spend too much. I would not be surprised if the current RR item is sold again unless reaches a very high price point.
