Hello I my son is new to collecting and is looking to by the following Wayne Gretzky Jersey and was wondering if anyone could tell me if you believe it is authentic or a fake by looking at the two pictures I added.

Thanks Paul HepburnGretzky%201.jpgGretzky%202.jpg

Need a much bigger picture, but from what I can see, it's not looking to good.

I hope this one is a better picture

I don't like it, even though Gretzky scribbles a lot when he signs, it doesn't have good characteristics. If you want a 100% authentic Gretzky signature, I'd buy from WGA (make sure it comes with BOTH hologram and COA though.) Gretzky is to WGA as Jordan is to UDA.

Here's my Gretzky for comparison:

Although mine was likely signed at a sit-down session, it still has characteristics that the GA one isn't close to.

Thanks not sure what to tell my son now

Honestly, most of the GA Gretzky jerseys I see are fake. I recently met an autograph hound here in Toronto (I don't get in-person autographs very much) and he showed me his Gretzkys, not really similar to yours. Sorry.

GAI is a complete joke, they need to stop.

I have a wall poster print with two WG signatures and do not know if they are authentic.

The photos of the two are attached, so please let me know what you think

First one has good characteristics and also some poor ones, but his rushed signature is pretty hard to authenticate properly as sometimes it gets REALLY sloppy. I'm honestly uncertain.

Second one needs a bigger picture.

The W looks really off on the first one.

I have met and Wayne and got autographs from him. My father actually sat next to him on an airplane and I remember meeting him and I was wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey when I picked my father up with my mother at the airport. This was about 25-30 years ago. Wayne laughed and told us we were wearing the wrong jersey. If I knew what I do now I would have offered to trade him!!

Without seeing anything else that either seller has, both look VERY fake to me.

I've gotten Wayne when he was drunk, and even then his graph doesn't look all that much different than how it typically does.

If Wayne was going to go thru the trouble of doing a "nice" graph (which is what these were attempts at) he would not have done it in what looks like it was signed in a mosh pit. If you get Wayne in a crowd, you get a graph more resembling the OPs graph, and not something with as many letters as these attempts.

And anyone is supposed to value your opinion in any way?? Your items are currently being exposed in another thread. Those OUAT forgeries you are selling are hideous. Therefore your opinions are mute, as you cant even take care of business on your own homefront.
