Janis Joplin Autograph Circa Dec 3, 1969 With Vest and Belt. Is this authentic??

Just came across this Janis Joplin autograph from 1969. Is this authentic??

The seller also has a suede fringed vest and an ornate belt that he claimed to be from Janis Joplin.

Here is his provenance:

I got these from a friend who was 14 when she talked her mom into taking her to her first concert.  It was janis at the u of alabama on Dec 3, 1969.  They drove there and got a motel unit whic happened to be next door to Janis Joplin and her band at the time--Cosmic Blues.  Janis invited them over before the show and the girl=Jennifer-and her mom spent about 2 hours with Janis in her room.  She was very friendly and kind.  When she changed her clothes for the show, Janis gave Jennifer her fringed vest -an ornate belt and two front row tickets to her show.

Seller is selling this as a whole package. What would something like that go for if it is authentic??? Thank you.

Cheers
JS

In my opinion, the signature is authentic.

you are right...authenticated by jsa and again by roger epperson

If the grouping is verifiable, it would easily be worth mid-5 figures. $100,000+ would not surprise me. When the sellers says, "I got these from a friend," though, it's always a concern.

That 14 year-old girl would be about 58 now, so odds are she's still alive, and there's a decent chance her mom is, too. Can the seller connect you with either of them?

The autograph looks in range to me. If it's not genuine, I think it's a really good forgery.

Fascinating...I hope it all checks out.

Good luck!

If I have time later, I'll spend more time looking at the autograph and give you the full benefit of my "non-expertise."

My "non expertise" says the signature is legit with a value of $1,100.00. If you get a decent letter of provenance from the owner and hopefully the original owner the stubs and clothing value would add another several thousand. I think a range of $3,500 to $7,000 would be fair.

I came up with this amount after looking over past sales at HA.com.

I think you're pretty close on the signature, but that seems a bit low for the vest and belt. I assume that there aren't any photos showing the vest and belt being worn on stage or during a photo shoot. That would obviously bump up the value quite a bit.

i have not been able to locate a photo of her wearing the vest wich i believe was made by holly harp.  can anyone help?

yes the girl is alive and i can give you contact info

these joplin items belong to me.....the autograph is jsa authenticated.....the 14 year old gir was not a friend of mine....i didn't know her.  i now know her because last year i got these items from her.  they are indeed real..please call me at 215-595-8277   or e-mail billtorrey64@hotmail.com  if you have any interest in these items...thanks
