Check the link above to see a great item signed by the legendary Doors front-man. Jim's roommate from his time at Florida was given a magic book which Jim signed. This is a great pre-fame signature that is a little different than what it would become.

They value it at $8-10,000. What do you think it would sell for?

I saw this segment and it is indeed a great signature and item. I think it would sell approximately within half that price range.

This is one of the more desirable Jim Morrison pieces I've seen. Thank you for posting this, Chad!

Signed copies of Morrison's poetry books often bring $6,000 or more. While this isn't a signed first edition like those are, I think it's worth more due to its rarity, topic and provenance. I think the expert's estimate of $8-$10,000 is solid, and I could see it bringing significantly more in a top notch rock auction.

I would love to own it.

I would place more value on signed copies of his self-published books rather than one that he had no hand in either writing or publishing. Unsigned copies of those books sell for $2,000+. While I'd also love to own it, I wouldn't consider trading my signed copy "The New Creatures" for it.

I'm with you. As a fan, I would much rather have a signed copy of his self-published books than this one. His self-published books were important to him and are a large piece of who he was and wanted to be. I'd personally love a signed copy of An American Prayer. It is beautiful and though not as rare as The New Creatures or The Lords, I prefer it.

The work he produced by age 27 is amazing to me.
