Very nice item! The issue with the pen hardly detracts at all. Valuation is a bit tough, as prices are all over the place.

I seem to have temporarily misplaced the Rivendell certificate of authenticity, though I wonder what - if any - weight that would carry since they seem to no longer be in business. I'm sure it will turn up, but for now I do have the '96 issue of the magazine with the ad including a photo of the signatures, a fax from Rivendell, my bank receipt, etc.

I'm thinking it's time this gets insured but do I need to get some type of authentication certification, or do I have sufficient information now?

I actually also have to look into getting collectibles insurance, and what that would involve. Here's a link to a discussion regarding insuring collectibles. There's a link to a company that provides collectibles insurance, and their site has links to resources for valuing collectibles.

Ask the company what they want. Most legitimate modern music dealers consider Roger Epperson the top Hendrix authentication expert. Email him at roger@rogerepperson.com. I doubt it will cost more than $100 for a COA. I'm not familiar with Rivendell or know who owned it--it's before my time in autographs--but COAs from defunct companies are rarely considered meaningful. 

I'd be very surprised if your Hendrix isn't real. You have a wonderful and valuable piece there. I think it would likely bring $7,000 or more in a good auction, certified by REAL (Epperson), JSA or PSA/DNA. $9,000+ wouldn't surprise me.

I'll have to look for your book. Thanks for sharing this great item. If those autographs were signed during the Albert Hall concerts, and they probably were since those were the last European concerts that this lineup ever did, then they have great historical value. I had the record albums when I was a kid, but the shows were also filmed and I've always hoped that a concert movie would someday be released. Your autographs could be included, similar to what was done in the "West Coast Seattle Boy" video that was released last year by the Hendrix estate. There are lots of Jimi's handwritten letters and lyrics in that documentary.

Copied below are a couple of similar examples. I don't have a date for the one signed by all three, but the one signed by Jimi and Mitch is also signed on the back by Engelbert Humperdinck, who Jimi supported in England early 1967.

Thanks for posting those examples.

I saw the Experience at the age of 13 two months after the two RAH shows. The RAH footage has been the source of endless legal wrangling, and though it has been rumored several times over the last few years that Experience Hendrix has been on the verge of a release, apparently there have been recent setbacks. So who knows if/when?
