It comes from a small collection of signed promo cards collected by a French woman in the 60's.
This is a good one to discuss. I looked at this Hendrix last night and thought it was probably genuine, but it's different enough from others I've seen, especially "Jimi," that I didn't have a strong opinion. How often have you seen the "J" and the "i" share a stroke like they do in this one?
It actually doesn't appear to me as though they share a stroke.
There's a skip between the end of the hook in the "J" and the start of the "imi," but it looks to me like they were done with the same stroke of the pen. The first "i" looks unususal to me period. Not like any I recall seeing. Most of the ones I've seen have been well defined.
It appears that way, but he crosses the "J" before beginning the "I". If you look closely, you can see the line cut back to cross the "J".
It looks like you're right. Still, the first "i" is unusual, and something I haven't seen before. Not that I study Hendrix like you do.
