I hate to say this, but "based on in-person signatures I've seen", many pieces in the collections of rock-autograph hounds, I've never seen one this illegible. By noting his jerky mannerisms on stage that his handwriting may look like this signature here, it doesn't, IMO. Typically, from what I've seen, his writing is unmistakably legible, from early years to late.
I'm fairly sure that all of the ones I've seen that were personally witnessed had inscriptions, which he appears to have used a fairly large range of; "all my best", "Best wishes to you", etc., and sometimes a personalization.
I'll post one below that's typical.
