I'm not seeing the point to having John Adams handwriting saying "one James Holden" on it. Regardless of authenticity, this would be completely worthless in my own personal opinion. Only thing I'd want of Adams would be a signature and any extra writing is just a bonus.

Well, since his autograph would cost more than a vehicle I just think it would be cool to have an authentic piece of his handwriting. If money were no option, then I would absolutely get his full autograph.

I guess I'm not understanding the one james holden.  Did someone take the original 6 x 7-1/2" document listed in the PSA/DNA cert and chop it up into little pc's to sell off bits of it?

Yes, there are a few out there like it as well. It's just an opportunity for those of us who have champagne taste on a beer budget to own a small piece of history. I got a sample of handwriting from Lincoln that's verified from PSA that I'm going to frame. It's really just a conversation piece and something cool to have for myself that I otherwise could never afford. However, I do want to make sure it's the real deal.

That is actually quite horrific that they are slicing up original documents like this.

And by the way, an authentic John Adams can be had for way less than 10 grand.

Again, several thousand dollars that I can't afford, so I'm looking at other authentic options. In a perfect world, I wouldn't have to look at the sliced up documents to own a piece of history but it is what it is. I also want a Babe Ruth autographed baseball so badly I can hardly stand it but it's just not going happen. I was able to acquire a Mantle, DiMaggio and Williams, but Ruth is out of my financial league just as a full signature from Adams, Lincoln, etc. We work with what we have.

patriotsfan10 on ebay sells cuts from famous people letters if you are interested, he has the documentation to back up his claims.

Thanks Lou, I saw his listings but was very unsure about the authenticity because of how low the bids started. That's why I came on here asking about this subject, these cuts are new to me and I want to be as informed as possible before jumping into something. I have learned a TON on this site and appreciate everybody's opinions on the authenticity of items.

He has scans of the original letters  the cuts come from and in most cases you can find the cut listed and the ones I looked at came from reputable auction houses that he bought.
