John Wayne signature on Legend of the Lost poster. Is it real?

Hello everyone, I may have been a bit confusing earlier. And I think I posted the follow-up on the wrong board!

I have a chance to buy a Legend of the Lost poster in good condition. The owner thinks the writing on the back is actually from John Wayne? I have reviewed a few examples, and a couple of things look promising, but others do not. Can anyone give me an opinion? You guys have saved me in the past. This will sell, and if it is real, I would like to have it. Why would he sign "Wayne"? It appears that the person is approving the art. Those are some concerns. If it were an autograph, why put it on the back?

John Wayne's handwriting:

HI Eric, I copied and did an overlay. Do you think it is real? Thanks so much for the reply!

If it were, do you really want an atypical last name only pencil signature of the back of a poster?

I'm assuming that someone simply wrote the movie and star's names on the back so it could be read while the poster was rolled up.  Either done at a movie theater, or in more recent times (but now obsolete) at a video rental store.

Years ago my local video store had a box of rolled posters free for customers and all the posters had the movie name written on them.

That very well could be it. I was just curious how similar the writing is to his actual signature. But what you say makes perfect sense. Thanks very much for the reply.
