JSA Approved Mantle Forgery...?
This is a horrible Mantle "approved" by JSA.
This is a slowly signed poorly executed forgery IMO. The "M"s are atrocious.

This appears to be some sort of "pre-approval LOA" that would accompany an auction "lot".

It is definitely an auction LOA and certainly looks bad. I doubt if it was switched out as the item matches the description.
I generally back JSA but in this case I can't. I know their auction LOAs are not as thoroughly examined as the full pictured LOAs but on this one they blew it.
This is the second obvious Mantle forgery I have seen with the auction LOA.
One of the major auction houses had one of the notoriously bad baseballs and when I notified them they immediately took it down.

Last I heard from PSA/DNA they did stop these "auction lot pre-approval LOAs". This is JSA though...
It could be in color, but the dude's scanner could've been set on "black/white"...who knows.

PSA/DNA did stop issuing auction LOAs. They now pre-certify guaranteeing they will authenticate the item for an additional fee. They give the buyer 60 days to submit for full authentication at a reduced rate.
JSA still issues auction LOAs for many auction houses.

I just called JSA NJ office and sent them the auction listing and it is not anything they have put a pre cert too.

Certainly looks like their auction LOA. I guess it could be a fake LOA but this seller is legitimate.
I doubt their records are great for auction houses. I personally think they blew this one.

I contacted the Ebay seller and JSA did indeed issue an auction LOA on this item for a well known auction house. I am not going to name them here but I believe the seller.
Sellers typically don't display the auction house on the LOA because potential buyers can easily find what the item originally sold for and it can hurt bidding.
