I have been given some autographs of old film stars. I'm new at this but understand a lot of these autographs were written .by secretaries etc. I'd like to know if any are authentic?.Firstly Judy Garland??? Any idea?? and dottie lamour???

It looks like both of these may be preprinted signed photos which means the signature is actually part of the photo. I know, for a fact, that this is not a Judy Garland live ink signature.

I have some that are pre printed and they look different. I'll attach a closer picture. Your probably right though.

I did a quick search on your Garland photo and found two matching signed photos which confirms it is a pre-print. Identical in every respect.

Yes I agree thanks

You can also use this site to verify this. Just upload your photo and it will display all the other similar images found on the Internet. It's a handy tool.

Live Judy 1954:

Thank you

Sure. The type of item you have is often postcard sized and was sent out to fans from the studios. My mom used to have albums full of them - Sinatra, everyone had them. If you sent in some $ (maybe it was $1), you could get an 11x14 and those are usually handsigned. The more common 5x7's are about 80% secretarial.

Never mind, I didn't see your photo.
