Feb. 4: We're expanding and reorganizing our discussion forums. Excuse our dust.

I've been looking at past Julien's auctions. And I know the Bush/Tompkins auction from 2012 was a huge debacle where clear MJ forgeries were sold. I know that Julien's assumed the signed clothing items were real because of the source.

But what about the years prior to that? I've seen other MJ items in earlier Julien's auctions that may have been forgeries, but real ones as well. So did this auction house ever have a major TPA okay items before they went up for auction? Or did they just do their own authenticating?

Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

They stated in their news answers after the blowout happened, that they used Laura Wooley for the Bush auction, however when she was reached for comment, she stated she was not an authenticator at all, and only appraised items.

It was mentioned during discussion on this forum, that previously that didn't really use anyone.   http://live.autographmagazine.com/profiles/blogs/nbc-investigates-j...   (see the comment section)
