Didn't see that. Was that this forum? This is only forum I bookmarked. Getting to point that I and am sure others just going to stop posting for fear we'll be yelled at for posting wrong thing in wrong place etc. I don't care who posts what where as long as the information shared on time to help each other out here. I ain't looking for credit just the info.

just use a simple search. I didn't realize a link was considered yelling.

a link connects the 2 posts together and should not be considered a threatening act

That's fair and fine but I do see people getting told they're putting links in wrong place all the time when all they're trying to do is help here. Not everyone wants to be active or find other forums. I only follow and am active on this one so don't know about any others.

But yes if someone saw something on other forum that would help this here learn more about it totally makes sense and help so thanks.

one random post seems to be fine.. when there's so many all at once, the issue needs to be pointed out so people will learn. Trying to spread awareness. I monitor this forum in a different way than others so it really doesn't bother me. Most seem to monitor by notification for this specific thread.. If members posting off topic don't hear it from me, they will hear it from others for wasting their time and it will come out more harsh. there is a reason for organization.

Hi WombIe, great name by the way, I posted yesterday about the 'graph police criticising members for creating a post that 'already exists'. As I stated yesterday we post here for one reason and one reason only and that is to help out other members. We could be inactive members and not share our info but poach others, but a duplicate thread happens so infrequently I can't see it being an issue. Sometimes the item is potentially rare and will sell out quickly. Doing 'due diligence' and searching other threads to not upset the pedants could result in everyone losing out... I give up...

I agreed with some points on that post. However, I don't think its coincidence multiple off-topic posts were created in this thread this morning. Lead by example otherwise this thread will be bombarded with people trying to throw their voice around to get a response because they cant get a response in other parts of the forum. I can see how multiple posts can slip by, I'm guilty of it myself even though I do search. If they do sneak out, its still best to link the original post so information can be shared between the 2. this shouldn't cause hard feelings. Its a matter of people being able to find the best information both now and in the future. Dont give up. Id be happy to discuss feelings about this more over DM. you do make good points but I see things as whats best overall for the forum. I could be wrong. we are always learning
