Is that to me Xwiesy?

Edit to add: I suppose not. I'm sorry - I can't follow this much longer. There are too many subplots or whatever.

I should clean this up - for me, "story" includes the presentation (how much can I disprove words). So, the item signed, the date, the style, flavor, ink, etc. all of it.

Right but at some point you have to figure out what the baseline for “real” is, which means at some point you are believing a story.

Tim, well...exactly ;)

I am going to try to remember to start each post with the name of the person I am addressing and also to clearly indicate which of the signatures might be shown in a discussion so all in crystal for anyone reading.

"Call me irresponsible", but I bet Vince would appreciate those with opinions saying why those opinions are held regarding this signature. I think "we" are sort of disrespecting Vince's post to a degree at this point.

Well, other than talking about ink and paper, I don't think I can add much more to this subject. I have said what I could in both threads and given my "why" best I can.

What am I saying? One can go and collect the exemplars from RecordMecca, Kuflik, GottaHaveIt and her tax returns and known letters, scale them and align them and post them all for discussion, numbered and all for clarity. Perhaps someone will do this in the new thread?

So you beleive Jeff Gold’s story.

Good thing you didn’t believe him on the Freddy Mercury haha.

And Gotta Have it...lots of stuff that I have  avoided.

Anyway I know what you are saying. It’s just you are believing some stories...

Xwiesy, what Gold story? Just because he sold it? Is there a "Kuflik" story? I did not see this. Anyway, Go and post more reliable early exemplars then. I looked for some early ones I thought reasonable. Please don't speak for me. You have little to no idea what I believe, think, or how I operate/authenticate. I don't know those things about you - and thus will not make like comment. I recall the Mercury letter. I have been trying to keep an even keel in this bouncy thread and will continue to do so. :)

This thread is very bizarre.

"nobody bothered to collect sigs before they were famous"

Not true....I've seen library card sgd by Presley or de Niros school homework.

I keep receipts , ticket stubs from IP meetings as proof I was there in the event I want to sell anything.

I must apologize posterguy

I read your comment wrong and retracted (deleted) my statement

I dont know if you read it b4 I deleted

I agree w/ you. I know for a fact that people look for up n coming talents and seek their signature to get early autographs

Absolutely true, if a bit rare. I myself have been signing the books, catalogs, texts and other materials I have illustrated or participated in for well over 17 years. First were brochures in 1987. So yes, it certainly does happen. It just does not seem so in this particular example.
