Hi John,

While the photo is one of the more common and less desirable of all the Mantle poses, the autograph is beautiful and probably measures about 5 1/2" across! Fudd, the Lowly Ex-Mantle Collector would consider this a 'Cadillac" Mantle signature! Coupled with the fact that there are not 1 but 2 inscriptions, this item is very rare and desirable.

With-out a PSA or JSA cert (75.00-100.00), the item would probably sell on E-bay for 2-250.00

With a PSA or JSA cert, the item would sell for 2-300.00 and on a good day up to $330.00.

Forget the stupid Certification. You'll get all the opinions you need right here. Save yourself some dough and continue to enjoy it just the way it is.

Well thank you Fudd.I appreciate your opinion. It is almost 5 1/2 inches long. And I think I paid $175.00 for it.The autograph really seems to stand out.

why does it look like the two inscriptions are in different sharpies?

Yeah... I got a bad feeling about the 536. can't help but wonder if someone enhanced it. The name and No 7 look great.

Zipper is right!  The 536 was added.  Could have been added by Mantle minutes later with another pen.  For my $, I'd buy one of the hundreds of thousands of real Mantles out there.

after blowing the pic up, the "536" does look like it could be in different pen?

I have not seen enough of the "536" inscription to tell if it matches exemplars or not. Taking a closer look at the signature and the no.7, I still like what I see there.

Interesting what some other might have to say?

Man,you guys don't miss nothing. So,I looked at it real good and that does look like a different pen.But hey, I'm happy you think the rest of the autograph is real.I'll be posting my Dimaggio 8x 10 soon which to me looks like it's  slowly written  and maybe my Koufax/Drysdale baseball. It is kind of astounding that someone else might have written the number 536 besides The Mick.I guess it's about the money. Thanks a lot for your inputs,
