this is not a "Greg Marino" forgery though. Just of that era.

Right. Bear in mind that Greg Marino was only one of the forgers supplying product to the network of dealers busted in the Operation Bullpen sting. B&J Collectibles used a different forger and it is my understanding there was also Mike Lopez in Los Angeles and one in Florida.

The B&J Collectibles style Mantles may be the most prolific. I still see a ton of them today.

I think a lot of that is because they were heavily Advertised in TUFF STUFF back in the day

It's bad. A common forgery style.

Here's another Monkey Mantle, this one is listed by eBay seller all4sale732 who is a moron. $859.99 BIN LMFAO.

When comparing it to mine I got at a fantasy camp years ago it is not close. 

it's a hideous well known forgery.

Another example of a "Monkey Mantle" this one listed by eBay seller rhine4321 who says they "don't sell junk". LOL. Look how ugly this is, hard to see how anyone could fall for this crap:
