Here's another example of that same Mantle forgery. The below "500 Homerun Club" forgeries on a baseball were also produced in the thousands.

I hope DB wasn't writing that the Mantle he posted was the one that the forgers attempted to emulate. I hope not.

Just the opposite. this "authentic" one (which also has an LOA on both signatures) would seem to be a better choice to try to emulate, IMO. Haven't seen one like this and it appeared to me to be atypical of the many authenic ones depicted so far.

No, DB, you wrote "Interesting style - it seems the attempt to copy this original one;" In other words, you were saying that the Mantle you posted, is the Mantle the forgers were trying to emulate. That's what you wrote, DB.

Then you realized what you had written and you turn it around in an attempt to recover after you realized you blundered.

If you're going to comment under a Discussion/Blog that you are aren't familiar with, either make a generic-type comment or just stay out of it. It's difficult enough just trying to decipher the comments you post.
